The European labor market is still a long way off
“We are still a long way from being able to talk about a European labor market”. This is what Nicola Countouris, Professor of Labour Law and European Law at UCL Laws, University College London, is convinced of.
“In Europe today there are different labor markets, different types of labor regulation. Therefore, workers have different experiences depending on the country they live in”.
And talking about the future, he says: “Education and personal skills still play a key role for a young person who wants to be better prepared for the labor market. However, individual commitment is not enough. We need an undertaking, a collective effort”. In this interview, he explains why…
