Alec Ross: Dear Italians, you don’t lack talent. Here’s how to maximize it

Pablo Picasso can help see us through this pandemic in the best possible way. Alec Ross, American technology expert and former Senior Advisor for Innovation during the Obama administration quotes the Spanish artist: “Every act of creation begins with an act of destruction”.

According to Ross, we need to see this time of crisis as an opportunity to rethink the future of our economy and society. Let’s take advantage of this moment of pause to stop, think and rebuild.

Ross spent some of his childhood in Italy and loves the country. “When I visit some of the leading companies in Silicon Valley or Seattle, I hear Italian being spoken and I meet many Italians there,” he tells us. “Italy clearly has talents but opportunities are lacking and so many of them leave. What we need to do is make it easier for the very talented Italians to stay in Italy and start businesses in Italy.”

And he has some very practical advice for young people. Hear all about it in this interview
